'''Gray Orcs''' are a nomads tribes with migratory routes established across remote parts in northeast '''Faerûn'''. Gray Orcs are just as savage as their mountain cousins, but don't share the same eager to conquer and slave. Having a less bestial appearance than the Mountain Orcs, Gray Orcs are more apt to wear "civilized" clothing while maintaining a clearly "non-human" look.

A gray orc tribe typically consists around 30 to 50 members, led, of course, by the strongest (and meanest) in the tribe. This individual is known as a '''chieftain''', and is responsible for deciding when the tribe attacks its neighbors. The position is but a temporary one, for orc chieftains are constantly being killed in battle -- or through treachery -- and replaced by new chieftains.

Another figure of power in a gray orc tribe is the, often female, High Priest, who keeps the position for many years.
